Project Description

2020 City Memory

I participated as a contributing artist in the exhibition and publication Du conceptuel dans l’art, presented in Toronto, Ontario, through the Mémoire de ville project developed by the Musée des arts visuels de l’Ontario français.

Mémoire de ville/City Memory is a conceptual video that invites us to contemplate and rediscover the richness of our urban architectural heritage. The project explores the history of a city by juxtaposing two seemingly separate elements: the façades of old buildings scattered throughout historic neighbourhoods, and the personal memories of senior residents.

Together, these two forms of memory—architectural and human—become powerful witnesses to the transformation of our cities, as urban renewal often occurs through the demolition of the past.
