2024 Okotoks Art Gallery

Presented in fall 2024 at the Okotoks Art Gallery, my exhibition Painting Alberta marked the official launch of the book of the same name—a long-term artistic project.

Over the course of seven years of research and creation, I painted more than 360 miniature acrylic works, inspired by archival and contemporary photographs. These pieces portray Alberta’s landscapes, communities, and the province’s social and ecological transformations from the late 19th century to the present day.

Painting Alberta is both an artistic project, a work of memory, and a gesture of love for a province that continues to inspire me. The exhibition also offered the public a chance to discover the full-colour publication, which extends the visual and narrative experience beyond the gallery walls.
